The lightbulb just turned on...

Last night was "black touch up" night where the PBI got a boot shine and their knives sheaf got cleaned. It was pretty quick and painless.

Remember to always wash and condition your brushes. I though my brush looked pretty clean just by swooshing it in my water cup but I decided to do the proper cleaning anyways. What a difference... you should have seen the gunk that came out of the brush.

The lightbulb reference was in regards to assembling the sherman tank and the 25 pounders. Yes I'm a newb to to my own defense the last time I tried I was in bed with horrible lighting. Things are moving forward again.

Skin tone touch ups

Last night I did some touch ups on all the skin area on the first platoon. Not only that but I was able to apply some Magic wash on five of them. Still not like the ones I see in the gallery but they do look a lot better.

Dream Storage

This is what I was thinking of to show off my army when it gets done.

Biby from Ikea

But since FOW is a 15mm miniature game, my fully completed force will still only occupy 1 or at most 2 shelves

Gun Stock

Last night I was able to finish painting the gun stock. I'm feeling pretty good. I can almost see the light of the tunnel.

I also tried my batch of Magic Wash (1 part Future Floor wax and 4 parts water). I like the results on my test figurine.

Thanks for the comments...

I posted a link to this blog on FoWOntario sometime last week and I have received some great feedback. I purchased some Future floor wax. Kinda a waste since I do not have floors that need waxing so if anyone in the GTA needs some for their magic wash please give me a ring.

I still haven't mixed it yet but I should be able to do it later on tonight.

The main suggestion that I have received from the photos was that I needed to apply some sort of wash. Once done I will try to post some pictures.

Update: Just bought a 500ml plastic bottle from Active Surplus. Tonight I'll put on my mad scientist hat and brew up a batch of Magic wash.

Almost finished my first platoon

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have great respect for all those FOW players who have many thousands points armies. I have no idea where they find the time to paint that much.

So the webbing and the helmets are done. All that is left are the gun stocks and final touch ups.

Last night I was able to take some pictures. Nothing fancy but I'm not an artist. I'm just a hobbyist trying to do something different.
